3. Grasp the handle and pull the Fan Module towards you.
♦
To replace the Fan Module:
1. Align the Fan Module with the chassis.
2. Push in the Fan Module with firm pressure.
3. Tighten the two thumbscrews.
4. Power up the chassis by connecting all power cords.
Controllers
The ACI-3144-XR chassis supports either one or two system controllers: a Primary
Controller and Secondary Controller. Considerations when replacing a controller depend
on whether a single controller or dual controllers are installed in the chassis:
• If there is only one controller installed in the chassis and you remove that
controller, the chassis loses connectivity and traffic is disrupted. When installing a
new controller, you must first set up the IP address, then either import
switch
settings and user data
or again set up aggregations.
• If there are two controllers installed in the chassis, removing one controller does
not affect traffic. The system switches to the second controller and connections
are retained. If there is a system failover that switches control to the Secondary
Controller, follow the steps for a
on page 77. The ACI-3036-XR
chassis has only one controller, so this feature is not available.
♦
To remove a controller:
1. Unscrew the thumbscrews on both sides of the controller you want to remove.
NOTE
When removing and replacing a controller, it is recommended that you first back up
switch settings and user data.
ESD CAUTION
To avoid damage to hardware from Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), do not
touch devices without first taking appropriate precautions. See
