Use 4" die grinder and steel cutting wheels to cut Oil Guard
at this area.
16.
After first cut is completed, rotate Oil Guard 180
0
and cut
again.
17.
Use die grinder and wire wheel to clean "V" Ring Seal
contact area of paint, rust and then hand sand this area
smooth.
18.
Completely clean the Guard area and Housing cavity of
dust & metal filings. Apply Permatex sealant to area new
Oil Guard will mount to.
19.
Lower the Upper Turret housing until Grease Injectors are
below Oil Guard mounting surface.
C.
Installation;
1.
Set both halves of the Split - 188S854 Oil Guard into place
and secure with (12) M8 Hex. Hd. screws.
2.
Install "V" Ring Seal and glue ends together.
a.
Place into grooved area around the Oil Guard.
b.
Apply Parker Super Lube to Seal area of the "V"
Ring.
3.
Apply Permatex Liquid Gasket to Upper Turret Housing
surface and lower Upper Turret Housing - Top until
contact is made with Upper Turret Housing - Bottom.
NOTE:
Install Cap Guide Section Outer when able.
4.
Secure Elevator Bearing Retainer in place with (4) M12
Hex. Hd. screws.
