10.5. MONTHLY CHECKS
10.6. ANNUAL CHECK
Once a year, have your wheelchair checked by your dealer who will carry out a full maintenance.
Regular maintenance can help to quickly detect damaged or worn parts and thus promote
normal wheelchair operation.
Parts Verifications
Armrests and lateral
sections • Check the fasteners.
• Check that the armrests can be adjusted without excessive
effort.
• Check that the armrests are locked in place.
Legrests • Check that the legrests click into place properly.
• Check that the adjustment options are working properly.
Tyres • Check that the tyre pressure is adequate.
• Tyre wear varies significantly depending on the road surface.
Frequent use on aggressive surfaces such as asphalt results in
premature wear.
Front casters / front
wheels • Check that the front wheel steering turns freely.
• Check the attachment of the casters and suspensions.
• Check that there isn’t excessive pivot clearance.
Electronic system Check the condition and correct positioning of the wiring and
connections.
Seat tilt • Check that the two seat tilt bump stops are in good condition.
• Check that they are both in contact when the seat is at its
maximum inclination.
• See section 10.9. Seat tilt malfunction.
Mechanics • Check the tightness of the screws.
• Check that the wheels are correctly positioned on their axle.
• Check that the rotation of the rear axle is sufficient.
• Check that the rear wheels turn without buckling.
• Check that there is no excessive clearance or unusual sounds.
