Manually Zeroing the Analyzer Sample System
The Zero function forces the analyzer to purge the sample system with a
Zero fluid to remove any residual contaminants in the sample system.
For heated systems, all temperature zones must be at their operating set
points before performing a Zero. If necessary, view the temperature zones
to verify this.
Pressing
CANCEL
at any time during this procedure will abort the
procedure and return the software to the
HOME
screen.
To manually zero the analyzer:
1. Ensure that the Zero fluid cylinder source is connected and turned on.
2. Press the
SETUP
soft key to display the
SETUP
menu. Select the
Calibration Control
sub-menu and press enter. Scroll down to the
Calibration sub-menu and press enter to display the
Calibration
screen.
3. Use the
DOWN
arrow key to select
Start zero calibration
and press
ENTER
to purge the sample system with Zero fluid. The message
“
Please wait ...
” will appear while the analyzer performs the calibra-
tion function.
Run the zero for 10 minutes.
Typically, the IPS-4 Analyzer controls the zero flow rate; no adjust-
ments are required.
If the customer provides the sample system zero, run the manual zero
at a flow rate of 2.5 L/minute (0.08 scfm).

From the
Calibration
screen, select
Start measure
and press
ENTER
to
return the analyzer to Measure mode.
5. Press the
HOME
soft key to return to the
HOME
screen.
6. Turn off the Zero fluid.
The zero is complete and the analyzer is now on-line.
