1.10 Ethernet Connections
The Ethernet connectors are located on the top of the SD17060E-K and SD31045E-K units. The connectors
are standard RJ-45 jacks that will accept any standard 100base-TX cable. Because the ports run at 100 Mbit
speeds, Category 5, 5e, or 6 cable should be used.
The ports are auto MDI-X capable. This means that a standard cable can be used to connect the SD17060E-K
or SD31045E-K to any device, including a personal computer.

The network jack labeled “IN”, in the diagram above, must be attached to the upstream device in the
EtherCAT network. (Closer to the network master.) The “OUT” jack must be attached to the next (down
stream) device in the network of the Networked Driver is not the last device in the network.
