AT-x950-28XSQ Switch and VCStack Installation Guide
51
You can use any base 10Gbps transceivers slots for a trunk.
There are no default trunk transceiver slots.
The base 10Gbps transceiver slots also support 1Gbps
transceivers. However, you cannot use 1Gbps transceivers in
stack trunks.
The trunk can consist of either fiber optic transceivers or, if the
switches are in the same or adjacent equipment racks, AT-
SP10TW direct attach cables.
The following guidelines are not mandatory but they are recommended
because they can make it easier to manage or troubleshoot the trunk:
Use the same base 10Gbps transceivers slots on both switches for
the trunk.
Choose consecutive transceiver slots (for example, transceiver
slots 6 to 9).
When cabling the trunk links, connect together transceivers in the
same slots.
The trunk of four 10Gbps links in Figure 20 illustrates the guidelines. It
consists of the same four consecutive transceiver slots - 1 to 4 - on both
switches, and the links are connected to the same transceiver slots. That
is, transceiver slot 1 in top switch is connected to slot 1 in the bottom
switch, transceiver slot 2 is connected to slot 2, and so on.

Base 10Gbps Slots
Here are examples of invalid 10Gbps trunks:
A trunk must have a minimum of two links. Trunks of one link are
not supported. An example is shown in Figure 21 on page 52.
