1. Check server status.
2. Check login page for messages.
3. Create a user from the
Administrator–>Provisioning
system page.
4. Log into Buddies as that user and verify that the
Administrator–>Configuration
interface and
Buddies–>Help–>About
show the
appropriate build number.
5. Enter a number into the Buddies
Call this number
box and dial out by pressing the
Call
button.
Verify that the Buddies IM window appears with the owner and dialed out
number as a member.
Verify owner’s phone rings, and then the dialed out number rings. Answer both
phones.
Verify that both phone icons are now the ‘green on the phone’ icon.
Verify that both phones can talk and listen to each other.
6. Hang up all calls.
Verify that both phone icons change to the disconnected state (blue phone).
To add contacts
1. Create two users (e.g., [email protected] and [email protected]) with
separate phone numbers.
2. Log Buddy-1 and Buddy-2 into Buddies on different computers.
3. As Buddy-1, go to the
Tools menu–>Add Contact
.
4. In the
Enter User ID
entry box, type in Buddy-2’s email address (for example,
[email protected]) and click the
OK
button.
Verify Buddy-2 is added as a contact.
5. As Buddy-2, verify that a message box appears stating Buddy-1 is adding Buddy-2 as a
contact.
6. Click
OK
.
Verify Buddy-1 is added as a contact to Buddy-2.
Verify both Buddy-1 and Buddy-2 are receiving Presence updates by selecting
Buddy-1’s status and changing it to “Out to Lunch.” Verify Buddy-2 sees the
update and then change it back.
