4.25.6 Install the Battery, Engine Guards, and Fuel Pump
1. Install battery box (5) by drilling holes in the box that align with the pre-drilled holes on the engine platform
and using 5/16" x 1" bolts (3) and 5/16" locknuts (1) (see
).
2. Install battery (4) into battery box (5).
3. Connect two 37" battery cables (4) to the engine as follows:
a. The ground cable is fastened to a motor mount bolt.
b. The positive cable is connected to the starter.
4. Install the choke and throttle cables to the engine and route them to the control box.
5. Fasten the top end of the muffler support bracket (10) onto the muffler shield and muffler (not shown).
6. Install the engine exhaust pipes onto the engine (not shown). Install the muffler and muffler shield onto the
engine exhaust pipes. Install the rain cap on the muffler.
