Introduction
For dual-controller systems, the CBM may be a standard feature pre-installed into the
controller and an optional accessory for single-controller systems. Users can service
the BBU, but not the FBM.
1.7.4 Super Capacity Battery and Flash Backup Module
The super capacity battery (1) and FBM (2) can be located inside the controller and
serve similar functions to those of a CBM, as described in the previous section. With
the super capacity battery, cached data can be securely stored for an extended
period of time.
Note! The BBU is only partially charged when shipped. After the system is
powered on, the BBU will begin charging to full capacity. Typically, the
battery takes approximately 12 hours to charge fully. If the battery is not
fully charged after 12 hours, there may be a problem with the BBU. In
such cases, contact your system vendor immediately. Users can also
check the status of the battery module via SANWatch or the firmware
(please refer to respective manuals).
