4.6.6.1

Text Overlay

The Text Overlay feature, which is intended for financial applications, overlays credit card information
over the video image. There are two Sniffer Mode types: COM or Network.

COM Type

Select the COM Sniffer Mode when using the RS232 port on the rear of the DVR for the overlay. Text
Overlay in COM mode is shown below in Figure 4-82.

The following describes the various entries in the COM mode screen. Make your selections as
described below and then click

Save

.

Sniffer Mode

Select COM from the drop-down menu.

Protocol

Make a selection from the dropdown list: POS or NONE.

Setting

Click the

COM Setting

button to open a dialog for making RS232 settings. Refer to section

Overlay Channel

Check the numbers representing the channel(s) on which you want to overlay the card number.

Overlay Mode

Check the box for the option(s) you want to enable: Preview and Encode. Preview means the card
number is overlaid in the live video. Encode means the card number is overlaid in the recorded file.
