Driver Installation on Windows NT

Before installing the SCSI driver on Windows NT, copy the
contents in the following directory

X:\CHIPDRV\SCSI\53C10xx\NT4

into a new formatted floppy

diskette. Please note that all contents in the sub-directory must be
copied also.

When installing Windows NT onto a SCSI HDD, it is
recommended that an IDE CD-ROM be used as a CD reader.
Before installing Windows NT, first install the SCSI driver from the
floppy diskette. Follow the instructions below to install the SCSI
driver on Windows NT.

1. Start Windows NT 4.0 installation by booting from the

Windows NT CD or floppy diskettes.

2. Press

Enter

when the

Welcome to Setup

screen

appears.

3. The Windows NT 4.0 Setup window appears next.

4. A screen should display the following message: Setup

has recognized the following mass storage devices in
your computer.

5. Choose

S

to configure additional SCSI adapters when a

screen displays

SCSI adapters found

. Move the

highlight bar to

Other

and press

Enter

.

6. The system prompts for the Manufacturer-supplied

hardware support disk. Insert the appropriate Symbios
Driver diskette, and press

Enter

.

7. Select

Symbios Ultra3 PCI SCSI Driver

. Press

Enter

.

8. The Windows NT setup window reappears, click

Enter

.

9. From here, simply follow the Microsoft Windows NT

installation process. Windows NT may have already
installed a SCSI driver. It is recommended that the user
manually upgrades the driver, which can be found on the
ADLINK CD to ensure compatibility. After installing
Windows NT, please update to the new drivers by
following the instructions below.
