Driver Installation
Driver Installation on Windows 98
Windows 98 will automatically install the SCSI driver. However, it
is recommended that the user manually installs the most updated
driver, which can be found on the ADLINK CD to ensure
compatibility. After installing Windows 98, please update to the
new drivers by following the instructions below:
1. Boot Windows 98. Click
Start
, select
Settings
then
double-click
Control Panel
.
2. Double-click on the
System
icon, click on
Device
Manager
tab.
3. Double-click on
SCSI Adapters
entry, select
Symbios
Logic xxxxx SCSI PCI Host Adapter
. Click the
Properties
button.
4. Click
Driver
, then click
Update Driver…
button.
5. An
Upgrade Device Driver Wizard
window will appear,
click
NEXT>
.
6. Select
Display a list of…
and click
NEXT>
. The next
window allows the user to specify a specific path. Insert
the ADLINK CD and click
Have Disk
.
7. Browse for the 53C1000R driver in the following path:
X:\CHIPDRV\SCSI\53C10xx\win95,98
, highlight
sym_u3.inf
, click
Open
, then
OK
. The previous window
should appear with the selected driver displayed as the
driver to install.
8. Click
NEXT>
, the
Wizard summary
window should
appear.
9. Click
Finish
. Restart the computer to activate the new
driver.
