COMPRESSORS AND INDOOR FANS MODES OF OPERATION
Modes of Operation - Commercial Controls
The system can be configured to operate in different modes depending on the requirement. Both Compressors and
Indoor Fans can be configured to be controlled either through ActronAir Internal Control logic or through 3rd Party
External Controller. To control the system's components, the external controller can either use 24VAC, 0-10VDC or
combination of these controller voltages. The system also allows control through different BMS protocols / buses.
The modes of operation are divided into the following main categories:
1.0 Internal Control and
2.0 External Control
(a.) 0-10VDC
(b.) 24VAC
(c.) BMS (MODbus / BACnet over 485/IP).
These control categories can be mix/match in different combinations to suit individual requirement.
The internal and external modes of operation for the compressor and Indoor Fans can be configured with the
following options:

1.0 Internal Sensors Mode:
In this mode, the unit operates on ActronAir internal logics for compressor capacity control, fan speeds etc.
2.0 External Input Modes:
In this mode, the unit can be configured for external compressor capacity request or external fan speed request
or both. The external input can be either digital input 24VAC, 0-10VDC or BMS input from the external controller,
depending on the input provided the unit needs to be configured.
3.0 Compressors Configuration
To configure the system's control operation for Compressors control combination, perform the specific
configuration procedure for the Compressors, as detailed below:
3.1 Compressors Internal Control Mode
To configure the Compressors for Internal Control Mode, make sure:
• that you disconnect the supply to Multi Input 2, the stage inputs to Stage 1, 2, 3 and Heat Inputs in the
control box and the BMS interface card, if these are installed (refer to wiring diagram).
• that the
Room Air Temperature Sensor is connected to the unit
