Overlay of traces
Possible actions after overlaying a trace
Returning to a single trace display
When two traces are displayed, press the <Remove> key to remove the overlay
trace and display only the current trace.
The softkey <View 2 curves> allows you to recall the last overlay trace so that
you can have both traces on the screen again.
Note
The trace transferred to overlay memory is stored there and can
therefore be recalled at any time until a new trace erases it.
Removing the Y offset (shift) between traces
To superimpose the overlaid trace and the current trace, press the <Adjust Y>
key: the vertical offset (shift) of the traces is removed at the level of the selected
cursor.
Swapping traces
The measurements can only be carried out on the current trace and not on an
overlay trace. To make measurements on an overlaid trace, you have to exchange
it with the current trace. To do this, press the <Swap> key.
Shifting the current trace
To vertically shift the current trace of the overlaid trace which remains fixed,
press the <Exit> key twice to exit the overlay mode and the Expert mode, press
the <Cursor> key, then use the
↑
or
↓
arrow keys.
Shifting of the two traces
To simultaneously shift the current trace and the overlaid trace, press the
<Zoom/Shift> key to go to Shift mode, then use the
↑
and
↓
arrow keys.
Trace resulting from the difference between the compared traces
When two traces are simultaneously displayed, it is possible to obtain the trace
corresponding to the difference, point by point, between the current trace and the
overlaid trace.
To do this, press the <2 Traces Diff.>. key. The screen then displays the overlaid
trace and the trace resulting from the «Difference».
It is then possible to recall the current trace and to erase the «Difference» trace by
pressing the <Main trace> key.
Exiting the overlay menu
To exit from the overlay menu, press the <Exit> key.
Saving and transferring the results to Excel
To save the test results and transfer them to Excel, proceed as indicated in
chapter 8.
