The physical loopback includes a configurable timeout mechanism to terminate
the loopback operation upon expiry of the assigned period.

To access the physical loopback diagnostics menu:

From the Diagnostics menu, select Physical Layer.
The Physical Layer diagnostics menu is displayed.

both external and internal loops.
