Fig. 10: Mounting in insulated facades: Plastered box on device carrier
1. Fix the plastered box [1] to a device carrier [2] that is suitable for the insulated exterior
facades (e.g. universal device supports, from Kaiser).
– Ensure that the installation height of the device carrier and the plastered box matches
the thickness of the planned exterior insulation (e.g. 160 mm exterior insulation).
– Align the mounting height of the plastered box and the device so that the cable can later
be guided through the flush-mounted installation box without a problem and the device
can be at the desired height.
– The plastered box can later be located a maximum of 7 mm deeper than the plastered
surface of the wall. If it is more, use a higher device carrier or distance pieces between
the device carrier and the plastered box.
2. Insert the cable through a suitable hole in the plastered box.
3. Protect the plastered box against penetrating plaster, etc. E.g. with a cut-to-size polystyrene
block that is inserted into the plastered box.
4. Ensure during insulating and plastering that no cavities are created, to prevent heat bridges
from forming. Fill any existing cavities with suitable insulation material.
After the insulation and plastering:
5. Carefully remove the plaster located over the box.
– Ensure that a sufficient amount of plaster remains so that the hole can later be
completely covered by the encircling "Collar" of the flush-mounted installation box.
