Turn on your portable Wi-Fi hotspot

USB tethering

If you want to connect a PC to your YotaPhone with a USB cable in order to access the
Internet when there is no Wi-Fi hotspot or Internet service nearby, you may enable the
USB tethering feature. However, this feature doesn't work with Macs.

If you want to tether your YotaPhone to a computer running Windows XP, you can follow the
insructions below.

1.  On the Home screen, tap 

 > Settings > WIRELESS & NETWORKS > More... and

the Wireless & networks menu will be displayed.

2.  Tap Tethering & portable hotspot.

3.  Tap Set up Wi-Fi hotspot, and the Set up Wi-Fi hotspot screen will pop up.

4.  Enter the Network SSID, which is the name of your hotspot.

5.  Tap a Security field to select the security type.

6.  Enter a password if the security field of your hotspot is not set to Open. The

password must have at least 8 characters.

7.  Tap Save to store the Wi-Fi hotspot information.

3.  Tick Portable Wi-Fi hotspot, and Tethering or hotspot active will be

displayed in the notifications drawer.

the Wireless & networks menu will be displayed.

3.  Tap Tethering & portable hotspot.

4.  Tick USB tethering, and Tethering or hotspot active will be displayed in the

notifications drawer.
