Y / N
= Query Power Failure at address 1 with a YES/NO answer
.
Once you have set up the command, address and level press the Yes button
and you will be prompted to send the command. Pressing the Yes button
again and the command will be sent. The display will then show
‘CONFIGURATION SENT’ before returning back to the quick set up display.
Once the command has been sent the answer (if there is one) is displayed on
the lower right of the display, formatted to that answers type. Levels can be
displayed as decimal or percent, values 0 – 255, short address 0 – 63 etc.
If the command expects and answer the answer type is indicated by the lower
right of the display as follows:
Y/N
YES or NO request
STA
Status request
GRP
Group requested
S.A.
Short Address requested
FAD
Fade time/rate
VAL
Value requested
LEV
Level requested
The DALI protocol does not differentiate between data types returned it is just
an single byte of data. But in order to make the information clearer the Watch
will show which type of data requested is returned. For example if Query Max
Level is set the answer will be displayed as LEV as it is a level. If Query
Random address the answer will be displayed as VAL as it is a value.
YES/NO
Beware the YES/No requests. If a YES/NO request is sent and the
answer is YES the device will return 0xFF/d’255’. If the answer is No nothing
happens. So a request for Query Lamp Failure with the answer NO tells you
that there is no problem at that address or alternatively that address does not
exist.
Initialise Command
The initialise command uses the full address range 0 to 63 but in addition has
two additional address functions. The XTBA DALI Watch places these two
functions above address 63 as below. So to get to the these two possible
initialise parameters press the Up button.
NSA = (no short address) devices without a short address will be initialised.
ALL = All devices will be initialised.
Double send commands:
Configuration Commands 32 to 128 and Initialise or Randomise are required
by the DALI standard to be sent twice to be executed by the receiving fixture.
The XTBA DALI Watch automatically sends these commands twice when the
command is sent unless disabled in Development Options.
