7.4.7 Removing The Sync Wheel
Prior to removing the sync wheel, the sync sensor and bracket must be removed as described
in Paragraph 7.4.6.
Once this has been done, take hold of the paper roll spigot to stop it turning and then remove
the screw and washer securing the sync wheel to the bottom of the spigot. The wheel can
now be lifted clear.
7.4.8 Removing The Paper Roll Spigot
In order to remove the paper roll spigot, the sync sensor and sync wheel will have to be
removed as detailed in Paragraphs 7.4.6 and 7.4.7 respectively.
Referring to Figure 15, locate and remove the E-clip on the underside of the spigot. The
spigot can now be withdrawn from the upper face of the printer base. Care should be
exercised when removing the spigot as a ball bearing and spring will be freed from a recess in
the underside of the paper roll plinth.
Note: The purpose of the spigot rotation ball bearing is to ensure that the paper roll does not
unwind when the bus vibrates. After long usage the ball can become stuck down due to
paper dust. The ball bearing and spring should be cleaned and all traces of paper dust
removed prior to refitting.
The ball bearing and spring should be refitted in the recess before refitting the spigot.
