7.4
PRINTER PLATE ASSEMBLY
This section explains firstly how to remove the complete printer plate assembly and then how
to remove the printer mechanism and the paper movement sensor assembly from the ETM.
7.4.1 Opening The Printer Plate Assembly

Open the top cover as described in Paragraph 7.2.1.

Open the printer plate assembly by firstly removing the four printer plate fixing screws
(Figure 46, Item 40, using a 2mm Allen key) from the rear and the sides of the printer
plate assembly.

Retain the screws for reassembly.

The printer plate assembly can now be lifted up and turned over to gain access to the
inside of the ETM and the underside of the printer plate assembly. Care should be
exercised when lifting the printer plate assembly to ensure that cables connected to the
lower cover are not stretched or damaged.
7.4.2 Removing The Printer Plate Assembly
1.
Open the printer plate assembly as described in Paragraph 7.4.1, then, if fitted, remove
the paper roll as explained in Paragraph 6.2.1.

Disconnect the following cable assemblies from the control board in the lower cover.
PLT (4 way), PLM (26 way), PLO (5 way - 2 used) and PLJ (6 way - 3 used) and
remove the cable assemblies from their various cable clips and ty-wraps. The Printer
plate assembly can now be completely detached from the ticket machine.
7.4.3 Removing The Printer Mechanism
When removing the printer assembly, it is advisable to leave the data cable assembly in situ
unless it is absolutely necessary to remove it.

Open the top cover as described in Paragraph 7.2.1, open the printer plate assembly as
described in Paragraph 7.4.1 then, if fitted, remove the paper roll as explained in
Paragraph 6.2.1.

Disconnect the printer cable assemblies from PLT (4 way), PLM (26 way) and PLO (5
way - 2 used) on the control board and remove the cable assemblies from their various
cable clips and ty-wraps.
3.
Referring to Figure 13, remove the three M4 fixing screws from the underside of the
printer base, which secure the printer assembly to the printer base.
