7.2.6 Removing The Contactless Reader Assembly
The Contactless reader assembly houses two components under its plastic case. Firstly the
antenna PCB for smart card detection and indication (though this PCB is not mounted to the
housing, it is situated beneath it. Secondly the repeater display and integral PCB for customer
feedback of transactions (this is mounted to the underside of the contactless reader plastic
case). It is advisable to remove the complete assembly before separating the repeater display.
The contactless reader assembly can be mounted to face either the left or right hand ticket
exit, to enable the repeater display to be read by the passenger (see figure 9a for left & right
hand fixing locations).

Prior to removing the contactless reader assembly, hinge open the top cover as
described in Paragraph 7.2.1.
2.
Remove the top inner cover as described in Paragraph 7.2.4 to gain access to the
contactless reader assembly fixing screws.

Removing The Contactless reader assembly
Refer to Figure 10 throughout the following operations.
1.
Locate and disconnect the repeater display cable assembly (ribbon cable)
from the Repeater display PCB (top cover).
2.
Locate and disconnect the antenna RF coaxial cable assembly from
(SK1) and the 4 way Molex LED cable from (PL5) on the Antenna PCB.
3.
Disconnect the repeater display backlighting cable assembly.
4.
Undo and remove the six pozi fixing screws (item 38 of Figure 46)
securing the contactless reader assembly to the top cover (refer to figure
9a for fixing locations).
5.
The contactless reader assembly can now be lifted clear.
6.
Re-fit by reversing these instructions.

Removing the Repeater display
Refer to Figures 10 and 54, as appropriate, in the following operations:
1.
With reference to Figures 10 & 54, remove the three fixing screws (item
41 of Figure 54) that secure the repeater display chassis to the case.
2.
Lift out the repeater display assembly and turn it over so that the display
is facing you.
3. Remove the four pozi screws, spacers and washers (items 25, 35 and 39
of Figure 54); the repeater display can now be removed completely.
