REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF PARTS
7.1
INTRODUCTION
The following paragraphs of this section give full instructions for the removal, replacement,
and (where necessary) the dismantling of assemblies and sub-assemblies in the ETM. All
references quoted for tables, figures, and other sections of this manual may be found by
referring to the contents pages at the beginning of this publication.
The following points should be noted: -
1.
Personnel working at Levels 2 or 3 may carry out any work described in this section.
Level 1 personnel (i.e. machine users) may only carry out the operations described in
Paragraph 7.2.1 if authorised to replace the ticket roll.
2.
Many of the instructions refer to the general assembly diagrams (Section 9).
However, where appropriate, more detailed diagrams are included with the text to
which they refer.
3.
Faults in the electronics are to be cured by replacing the faulty circuit board as a
complete unit and returning the defective board to the manufacturers or their agents
for repair. For this reason no information is given in this chapter about the removal or
replacement of any electronic components. Circuit diagrams are not included for the
same reason.
4.
All of the operations described here start right from the beginning and assume that the
machine is intact. However, if it is already partially disassembled, some of the initial
steps in each section may be omitted.
5.
If there is ever any doubt about how to fit a sub-assembly or assembly, compare the
machine with a working machine of the same or similar type.
