23.7

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

23.7.1 General

This section includes the information concerning controls and

indicators needed in maintenance and troubleshooting. The Con-

trols and indicators section is divided into paragraphs according

to hardware.

 Because there are no moving parts in this system the mainte-

nance procedures are simple nevertheless important to accom-

plish. 

  The main principle in troubleshooting is that if a component is

working imperfectly it will be replaced and no field repairs will

be done to components.

23.7.2 Controls and Indicators

23.7.2.1 General

This section is devided into paragraphs according to hardware.

Therefore it is easy to find instructions of the needed component

or unit. The controls and indicators of the system are not needed

in normal operation. It is recommended that troubleshooting

procedures where controls and indicators are needed will be made

by service personnel only.

23.7.2.2 Main Control Unit

Various controls and indicators are provided for monitoring and

control of the MCU.  When the MCU has been turned on, it takes

1 to 3 seconds before any LED’s light up or start blinking.

23.7.2.3 Frame

A twoposition switch is located on the lower face of the MCU

Frame as shown in Fig 23-32. This switch isolates both the

external power source and the internal 12 V battery from the

DC/DC Converter (DPS50 Board).
