Getting ready for operation

1. Insert an in-line oiler (Z 300) into the compressed air line if one is not

already integrated into the compressed air supply. Observe the follow-

ing basic points:

−

The in-line oiler should be inserted between the final compressed

air hose and the previous hose or, as appropriate, the compressor.

−

The in-line oiler cannot be more than 10 meters away from the

compressed air device.

−

The oiler must always be on the same floor as or level with the

equipment.

Risk of tripping over carelessly laid hose

lines�

Danger of injury.

Make sure that the hose line has not been

laid across any roads or paths and is lying

flat on the ground.

Ensure that there is adequate spare hose

in the working area.

2. Connect the compressed air hose to the compressed air supply (e.g. a

compressor) and open the compressed air infeed if an additional stop

cock has been fitted.

3. Check that the hoses and couplings are leak-tight. If they are not,

switch off the compressed air supply and replace the hose immediate-

ly.

4. Connect the compressed air hose to the connecting hose on the VOGT

compressed air device.

The VOGT Hammer / TurboSpade may start up

unintentionally�

Risk of severe injury.

Position the device so that the tool is not pointing

at any people or animals.

If the device starts up by itself, disconnect the

compressed air supply immediately.

Shut the device down and send it to the manu-

facturer or an authorized specialist workshop for

repairs.

Choosing the operating pressure

Different levels of working pressure are recommended for materials that

are to be worked in different ways. As a general principle, the lower the

material’s resistance, the lower the recommended operating pressure.

Excessive pressure increases vibrations, impairs performance, and causes

damage to the VOGT compressed air device and tool.
