on compressed air device. During this time, the vibrations from the device
are acting on their body.
3�7 Competencies of personnel
The user must have the following competencies:
They must be at least 18 years old and in full possession of their physi-
cal and mental faculties and must be physically capable of handling the
size, weight, and power of the device.
They must have read and understood the safety instructions and the
parts of the operating manual relevant to operation and must observe
these.
Authorized maintenance personnel must have the following competencies:
They must be at least 18 years old and in full possession of their physi-
cal and mental faculties.
They must have read and understood the safety instructions and the
parts of the operating manual relevant to maintenance and must ob-
serve these.
They must be familiar with the safety concepts and safety rules of com-
pressed air technology.
They must be able to spot potential hazards in compressed air technol-
ogy and act in a safety-conscious way to prevent injury and damage to
property.
They must be trained and authorized to maintain these compressed
air devices safely.
