HDR-5000 User and Technical Manual
The Advanced Encryption Standard (
AES
) is a specification for encryption of electronic data established
by NIST. A Bcrypt decryption module allows the HDR-5000 to interoperate with any COFDM streams
using standardized encryption. Within the
Parameters
section you can change the
Decryption
setting to
allow encrypted packets to go through the system, when you select
Pass Through
option in the
TSoIP
drop-down.
It is recommended that you use Automatic Packet Identification decryption (
Auto Mode
), although it is
possible to use
Manual Entry
should you need to decrypt particular PIDs.

3.7.1 Steps to Create a New Encryption Key
To define a new Encryption Key, go to the fields in the
Encryption Key
page found at the bottom of the
page in the section titled
Add Encryption Key
and populate these fields.
1. Click within the
Name
field in the
Add Encryption Keys
section and type a unique, easily
recognized description for the specific Encryption Key, for instance you could use AES256 in the
name for a key that uses the AES 256 encryption standard.
2. Next,
select
Mode
and choose from the drop down list.
3. Type an Encryption Key within the
Key
field. Text appears to track how many characters have
been typed.
4. Select
Save Changes
to save to your new key.
5. To enter the new key select
Create New
and use the
Create New
drop-down menu to select the
key that you’ve added.
