IMPORTANT TEST!
Type-C systems are very similar to Type-A. Mix-
ing up the two types could damage the vehicle. To test, cut the wire that
shows (+)24v when you press the Lock switch. Next, press the Unlock
switch and see if all the doors unlocked. If all the doors unlocked, you
can safely proceed with a Type-A installation. If the doors did not un-
lock, you either cut a motor wire or you have a Type-C system.
TYPE-C
Like Type-A locking systems, Type-C lock and unlock wires
typi-
cally
show (+)24v when you press the door lock switch. However, Type-C
systems lack factory relays, and
power is sent directly from the switch to
the door lock motors
. Pushing the lock switch reverses the electrical polar-
ity on the door lock motors according to the switch you pressed—so the po-
larity on the motor for Lock is opposite the polarity on the motor for Unlock.
When neither switch is pressed, the lock and unlock wires
typically
rest at
(–) ground.
The 2310 can interface with Type-C only with the use of a pair of
optional
VISION 792H-1C-24
relays.
