3.3.4.1 Faults
Both major and minor fault status may be displayed from the FAULTS
MENU as described in the following paragraphs.
3.3.4.1.1 Major
Faults
To confirm that there are no major faults in the equipment, navigate to
the MAJOR FAULTS MENU from the FAULTS Menu.
1.
From the MAJOR FAULTS MENU, observe that NO FAULT is
displayed for Mod FPGA. A fault here indicates a problem
loading/configuring the modulation and/or FEC FPGAs.
2.
From the MAJOR FAULTS MENU, observe that NO FAULT is
displayed for Mod RF PLL. A fault here indicates a problem with the
RF card PLL circuit.
3.
From the MAJOR FAULTS MENU, observe that NO FAULT is
displayed for Ext Ref PLL. A fault here indicates a problem with the
external reference clock PLL circuit.
4.
From the MAJOR FAULTS MENU, observe that NO FAULT is
displayed for Tx Pwr Cntrl. A fault here indicates a problem with
the modulator transmit power.
5.
From the MAJOR FAULTS MENU, observe that NO FAULT is
displayed for Cal Table. A fault here indicates a problem with the
modulator transmit power calibration constants table.
3.3.4.1.2 Minor
Faults
To confirm that there are no minor faults in the equipment, navigate to
the MINOR FAULTS MENU from the FAULTS MENU.
1.
From the MINOR FAULTS MENU, observe that NO FAULT is
displayed for Ext Ref Clk Actv. A fault here indicates a problem
with the external reference clock connection.
2.
From the MINOR FAULTS MENU, observe that NO FAULT is
displayed for Intfc Clk Actv. A fault here indicates a problem with
the user data interface input clock/connection/interface type.
3.
From the MINOR FAULTS MENU, observe that NO FAULT is
displayed for Intfc Sync. A fault here indicates a problem with the
user data MPEG source/connection/interface type.
Note The MAJOR FAULT
LED is normally off off
unless there is a fault.
Note The MINOR FAULT
LED is normally off unless
