1.3.2 VBM-1400 Front Panel Controls and Indicators
The VBM-1400 front panel contains the controls and indicators shown
and described in Figure 1-3.

Item Function
Liquid Crystal Display Backlit LCD used in conjunction with the cursor, numeric, ENTER and
CLEAR keys to show and change parameters.
Cursor Keys Navigate through menus and menu items displayed on LCD. Also allows
clear character/positive/negative sign change.
Numeric Keys Used to enter numbers 0 through 9.
ENTER Key First press activates edit mode. Second press enters parameter shown on
display into memory.
CLEAR Key Exits edit mode, clears entry, and restores previous parameter.
Status LEDs -----------------------------------------
OUTPUT ON Lights green when Transmit is activated.
MAJOR FAULT Lights red when there is an internal failure of the data flow in the
transmit path.
MINOR FAULT Lights yellow when there is an internal failure other than the data flow in
the transmit path. Operations may continue, although user data are not
likely to be transmitted correctly.
TEST Lights yellow when a test mode is active.
POWER Lights green when input power is applied.
REMOTE Lights green when remote control is enabled.
