Adding Wave ISM user and administrator accounts
This section describes how to do the following:

Add Wave ISM accounts and passwords. See below.

Create Wave ISM administrator accounts on the primary domain controller, and use
accounts from other trusted domains. See page 7-23.
Adding Wave ISM user accounts and passwords
To secure your Wave ISM from unauthorized configuration changes, you should create one or
more new accounts with enterprise-level access privileges to replace the default
GlobalAdministrator account included with your Wave ISM, test the new accounts, and then
delete the default GlobalAdministrator account.
Enterprise-level access privileges are the most comprehensive. A user with enterprise-level
access privileges can perform all of the Wave ISM administrative functions, including changing
and configuring access permissions. You need at least one account with enterprise-level access
privileges to be able to configure all aspects of your Wave ISM. By default, only individuals
with enterprise-level access privileges can do so.
One of three access levels—enterprise, manager, and user—can be selected for most of the
Global Administrator Management Console applets via the Access Permissions applet. When a
logged-on user does not have permission to use an applet, its icon appears dimmed to indicate
that the applet is unavailable. Note that the Access Permissions and Password Administration
applets are fixed at the enterprise level and cannot be modified. (For more information, run the
Access permissions applet and click Help.)
Important:
Be sure to keep a record of the new account passwords. Once you remove the
default GlobalAdministrator account, the only access will be through the new accounts. If you
lose or forget the password for your enterprise-level user, you must reinstall and reconfigure
your Wave ISM to regain access. As a best practice, Vertical recommends changing the
