b.
The PID Controllers are hardwired into the PS enable bit, and can override the enable
bit from the
Nexus
computer/PLC if it measures an over-temperature condition. The
PID controllers continually monitor both PV (the T/C directly connected to the PID
controller and the Pyro through the Ethernet link). If either PV indicates an over-
temperature condition, the PID controller will disable the PS via the hardwired enable
bit. The Overtemp condition is also transmitted to the PLC via a digital Input, where
the PLC will disable the PSs and the
Nexus
computer will initiate a controlled
shutdown of the tool.
c.
The Pyrometer is also hardwired into the PS enable bit. If the Pyrometer measures
an over-temperature condition, the PSs will be disabled and the over-temperature
condition will also be retransmitted to the PLC via a digital input where the the PLC
will disable the PSs and the
Nexus
computer will initiate a controlled shutdown of the
tool.
