Nexus System
Shut Down
mode is:
Motor speed ramps to 0.
All temperature set points to 0.
All pneumatic valves are closed.
All MFCs have a setpoint of 0.
All gas flows are stopped.
All system pumps remain on.
All system components remain powered on in their default states.
Activation of the Gas Panel Minimizer Bank sets all gas panel valves to
normal
position (NC),
independent of software control. This ensures that the system will shut down even if Nexus
has locked up in some manner.
The
Thermocouple Interlock
activates when there is a sensor overtemp condition or a
sensor break condition. After the interlock relay has been activated, the
Thermocouple
Interlock
Enable
button must be pushed to reset the system. If the
Thermocouple
Interlock Enable
button is not pressed within ten minutes, the system initiates a
hard shut
down
, setting all digital and analog outputs to their zero state.
INTERLOCK OVERRIDE SAFETY NOTICE
Facility digital output (
Dout 162
) indicates that the system is in
Shutdown
mode/status.
When in Shutdown mode/status, the control software (Nexus) closes all valves, thereby
isolating all hazardous/flammable sources within the system. As an additional level of
safety, it is recommended that customers monitor their facilities’ digital outputs and shut off
external (customer-controlled) gas supply when the system is in shutdown mode. If the
above-mentioned interlock is added, a method of overriding the interlock must be provided
to allow pressurization of the inlet manifold.
