TCD Operation with the Graphical User Interface

3.  Detector Stable

 LED 

A green light indicates that temperature stability has been reached after a 
change in the detector temperature setting, or after the detector has been 
turned back on after a power-down period.

4. Thermometer

 icon 

Clicking the thermometer screen returns the GUI to the Control screen 

(page 

21).

  

5. Graph

 icon 

Clicking the graph on the Control or Configuration screen opens the Graph 
screen.  On the Graph screen, it has no functionality.

6. Gear

 icon 

Clicking the gear screen returns the GUI to the Configuration screen.

7.  Question Mark

 icon 

Clicking the question mark opens a help section.

8 . X

 icon 

Click to close the TCD-3 GUI program.

9.  Graph Element Selection

 check boxes 

By checking the boxes in this field, you can select which functions will be 
graphed.  The options are as follows: output voltage levels of Channel A,  
Channel B, and Channel A-B, or the temperature of the detector.

10.  Axis Control

 menu 

The three axes on the graph are “Output Channel” (vertical axis, left side), 
“Block Temperature” (vertical axis, right side), and “Graph time” (horizontal 
axis)."  Select each of these in turn to enter relevant parameters in item 12.  
Two of the three examples are shown in the example.

11. Autoscale

 check box 

When the Autoscale box is checked, the graph will automatically adjust the 
axes to best fit the data points in the window.   If the box is not checked, then 
the graph will use the range limits as entered in the Max and Min value boxes 
as the axis limits for the graph.

12.  Axis Control

 input boxes 

For the “Output Channel”, the range for max/min is ±1.5V.   
For “Block Temperature”, the range is 0 to 500°C.   
For “Graph time”  , it is 0 to 2600 seconds.

13.  Data Values

 menu and info boxes 

The Data Values  menu has two options:  for “Current Value”, the info boxes 
display the most recent values for the channel output voltages and detector 
temperature; if “Average Value” is selected, the average value of all the signals 
displayed on the graph is displayed (

i.e.,

 if 900 seconds of data is displayed on 

the graph, then these average values for channel output voltages and tem-
perature span the most recent 900 seconds.)
