If the green indicator is dark instead of bright as above:

4.  Make sure that the serial cable is connected to both the computer and the 

TCD3 controller, and that the controller is turned on.  

 

If the green indicator is still dark:

5.  Check the Comm Link info box.  If it says “Could not open COM port”, make 

sure that no other programs are currently using the selected COM port.  

6.  If the COM Port Selection setting is changed, press the Re-Initialize COM Port 

button to re-establish the communication link.

Once communication has been established with the unit, the information fields 
in the System Status and System Info boxes will be filled-in.
