6.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE
6.1.
SAFE OPERATING GUIDELINES
The general terms and conditions of use can
vary. Therefore, those are defined for each application
in particular and included in the documentation for
each project. Herein, serving as example only, the
general terms and conditions of use are outlined.
6.1.1.
GENERAL GUIDELINES
It is recommended to strictly follow the instructions
of the project plan, the health and safety plan, as
well as any further technical and/or safety rules
which might apply to the project.
The person in-charge of the installation shall ensure
the fulfilling of all points made in this User's Guide
and with special emphasis on guidelines regarding
workplace safety all along assembly, construction
and dismantling of the system. Moreover, this
person ensures the equipment is only used within its
limits and the purpose it has been designed for.
Within the responsibility of the person in-charge is
also to ensure that only qualified and trained
personnel works with ULMA's HWS system.
All persons responsible for the operation of the HWS
system must be qualified and trained and must have
read the User's Guide before handling the system.
The User's Guide should be constantly accessible for
reference.
Instructions of use for the employed equipment
must be followed (consult operating manuals of the
manufacturer or distributor).
In the case of doubt or lack of information, please
contact with ULMA staff.
Only
statutory
auxiliary
means
and
the
corresponding protection equipment, preferably
collective protection equipment are employed.
Appropriate,
certified
Personal
Protective
Equipment (PPE) will be used to guarantee the
safety of each worker.
Always wear safety helmet, gloves and safety boots.
Occasionally and whenever necessary for the type of
work to do, use: goggles or safety screens, hearing
protection, breathing mask and anti-fall harness.
Further PPE should be considered, where
appropriate.
Adequate collective protection equipment (nets,
handrails, etc.) must be installed to ensure safe
working at height.
Observe an adequate tidiness and cleanliness in the
HWS systems to ensure their safe operation. The
working platforms are kept clean and tidy at all
times, without tools, bolts and any other parts in
danger of falling from them, and striking persons
below.
Toeboards are placed at the outside face of the
platforms to prevent objects from falling to a lower
level. Moreover, safety nets can be installed at the
outside face of the platforms to prevent objects
from falling to a lower level. At the inside face of the
platforms cover gaps with rubber or similar material
to prevent objects from falling to a lower level.
