In short-circuit mode, the measurement input is
Probe-1
. If 0.000R is not visible on the screen when the
probe tips are short-circuited, t
he “
Relative
” button is
clicked and the absolute value of the resistance
value is taken. A message appears on the screen that the offset calibration is complete. The magnifying
glass in the animation focuses where the short circuit is. The instrument is now ready for short circuit
measurements. When the measured re
sistance value is below 0.15Ω, the magnifying glass is positioned on
the line according to the resistance value. In addition, depending on the distance to the short circuit point,
the buzzer makes an intermittent sound. At the short circuit point, the buzzer sounds continuously.
Note
: Since low resistance values are measured here, it should be noted that contact resistance may affect
the result while measuring.
If it is over 0.15Ω, the animation
is not active, but the
resistance measurement continues up
to 100KΩ. It
should be known that the measured resistance values are
not as sensitive and accurate as a multimeter.
Measurements are for reference only.
Since the resistance measurement is made at 0.2V test voltage, active components do not affect the
measurement in the measurements on the electronic board. However, since the test voltage is 50Hz AC
voltage, capacitors and inductances on the circuit may affect the measurement. The most accurate result is
obtained with measurements made with discrete materials.
