Electrical
1. Each boiler must be provided with a fused discon-
nect and service switch.
2. Install wiring in accordance with requirements of
authority having jurisdiction. In the absence of such
requirements, follow the National Electric Code,
NFPA 70 and/or CSA C22.1 Electric Code.

Condensate Piping
1. Each boiler requires a separate condensate drain
line. Do not manifold condensate drains from
multiple boilers together.
2. A common condensate pump/sump may be used.
Run separate condensate piping from each boiler to
the sump. A common drain may be used to dis-
charge condensate from the sump.
Consult pump/sump manufacturer for compatibility
of materials of construction with fl ue gas conden-
sate. If a common pump/sump is used, individual
boiler drain lines must be connected such that
one drain pipe cannot back feed into another
boiler drain.
3. Consult local authorities regarding disposal
of fl ue gas condensate into public waste
water system. Some jurisdiction requires that
the condensate be buffered before discharge.
This buffering is commonly achieved by
draining the condensate through a limestone
bed. Consult chemical treatment company
for buffering systems.

Modular Boiler Control Systems
Contact a controls manufacturer such as Honey-
well or Tekmar to properly apply a modular
control system.
Common systems may use outdoor temperature,
return water temperature or both to stage the
boilers.
