Admin
An Admin button is provided on the top, global navigation bar for editing and creating Users,
Roles, and setting Password Requirements.
Creating a New User
N No otte e:: For more detailed instructions on creating a new user, click the help icon in the global
navigation bar within Symbio™ UI.
To create a new user:
1. From the global navigation bar, select Admin > U Usse errss.
2. Click the C Crre ea atte e U Usse err button.
3. Enter the user’s personal information, and click N Ne ex xtt..
4. On the Preferences page, determine how certain attributes on the Symbio™ 800 user
interface will display. Click N Ne ex xtt.
5. On the Data Display Units Preference page, determine the unit type in which data will be
displayed. Click N Ne ex xtt.
6. On the Data Display Units Preference page, determine the preferred display units. Click N Ne ex xtt.
7. On the summary page, review your selections. Click F Fiin niissh h to save the new user.
Assigning Roles to Users
1. From the global navigation bar, select Admin > U Usse errss.
2. Click the role name to open and review details about the role.
3. To assign a role to a user(s), click the box to the left of the user name, then click A Accttiio on nss… >

4. Using the pull down menu select a new role for the user, then click C Ch ha an ng ge e R Ro olle e.
Creating a New Role
1. From the global navigation bar, select Admin > R Ro olle ess.
2. Click the role name to review details about existing roles. Click the C Crre ea atte e R Ro olle e button to
create a new role.
3. Enter role information including Role Name, Description, Base Role, and Maximum Override
Priority, and click N Ne ex xtt.
a. B Ba asse e R Ro olle e selection is the starting point for creating a new role.
4. For the E Eq qu uiip pm me en ntt P Pe errm miissssiio on n, specify the Permission Granted for working with Points.
Points are the interface used for BACnet

, MODBUS

, and LonTalk

communication. Click

5. A Ap pp plliicca attiio on n P Pe errm miissssiio on nss page provides the ability to customize the new role. When
finished, click N Ne ex xtt.
6. F Fu un nccttiio on n A Acccce essss page allow selections the performing Backup, Installation and service,
Restore, Audit log. When finished, click N Ne ex xtt.
7. Use the S Su um mm ma arry y page to review full details of the new role. Click P Prre ev viio ou uss to go back and
edit selections for new role. Click F Fiin niissh h when ready to save the new role. Click C Ca an ncce ell to
discard role and settings.
