xiii. Operate the searchlight DIM function switch and ensure the lamp intensity reduces and

resumes normal intensity.

xiv. Turn the lamp OFF



the lamp should extinguish immediately.

xv.  Ensure the grip hand controller lamp ON status LED is now extinguished.
xvi.  Ensure the searchlight cooling fan turns OFF after approximately two minutes.
xvii.  Check the slave functions if installed. Refer to OEM manual.
xviii. Check the laser pointer (if installed) operation with the aid of night vision goggles or

similar.

xix. Ensure the grip hand controller LP status LED illuminates when the laser pointer is

turned ON.

xx. Operate the Facia DIM and Filter ENGAGE switches simultaneously to ensure that all

indicators, seven segment display and front facia backlight illuminate to full brightness.

xxi. STOW the system. The searchlight will move to the STOW position and ‘P’ should be

displayed on the grip hand controller seven segment display.

CAUTION:

DO NOT TURN OFF THE SYSTEM POWER SWITCH IMMEDIATELY

AFTER TURNING OFF THE LAMP.

THE COOLING FAN NEEDS TO OPERATE FOR APPROXIMATELY

TWO MINUTES AND WILL THEN AUTOMATICALLY SHUT ITSELF

DOWN.

xxii. Turn power off.

if installed, use the TCP to check:

NOTE: This procedure describes only the basic configuration of the Trakka

searchlight. For installation on the helicopter, refer to the OEM Aircraft

Maintenance Manual.

Turn power ON (energise the searchlight system).

ii. Deploy the system



the searchlight moves to the DEPLOY position.

iii. Turn power OFF



this will ensure the system will perform a full initialisation after the

next power ON.

iv. Turn power ON



the system will now perform a full initialisation with the searchlight

moving through the full elevation and azimuth range to check the full travel limits, after

which, the searchlight will move to the STOW position.

NOTE: The STOW button LED should be illuminated when the STOW position is

reached.

v. Deploy the system



the searchlight moves to the DEPLOY position and the DEPLOY

LED will illuminate and remain ON.

vi. Operate the eight way control switch



joystick



and the motors should stop operating

when the soft stops are reached.

WARNING: ENSURE THE SEARCHLIGHT IS POINTING AT A SAFE LOCATION

PRIOR TO IGNITING THE LAMP.

vii. ARM the system by selecting the SYS switch to the ARM position.
viii. Turn the lamp ON



lamp will ignite.

NOTE: Ensure the LAMP button ON LED is illuminated.

ix. Ensure searchlight cooling fan is operating.
