8. Lift the fuel tank out of the tower (Fig. 087).

5. Remove the mower deck: 42” deck on page 7-64;

46” deck on page 7-69; 50” deck on page 7-74.

6. Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel fi lter and drain

all the fuel from the fuel tank. Reconnect the fuel line
to the fuel fi lter (Fig. 085).

7. Remove the two screws securing the fuel tank

support rods to the dash supports (Fig. 086).

9. Raise the machine to access the steering gear

assembly.

10. Secure the steering gear in place with a Phillips

screwdriver and remove the nut from the end of the
steering shaft (Fig. 088).
