4. Remove the 2 bolts and 1 flanged-head bolt that
secures the muffler cover to the muffler (

5. Remove the self-tapping screw that secure the
spark arrester to the muffler and remove the
spark arrester (
Figure 68 ).
Cleaning and Assembling the
Spark Arrester
1. Remove the spark arrester ( Figure 68 ).
2. If there are any breaks in the screen or welds
are observed, replace the arrester.
3. Clean the arrester with a wire brush and soak in
solvent if necessary (
