13 MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
WARNING! Possible damage to the unit and/or battery inverter if it is not decommissioned prop-
erly.
Before carrying out maintenance work, the TS 48 V must be decommissioned in accordance with the
procedures in section “9 Decommissioning”, page 46.
NOTE:
When cleaning and maintaining the SMA Sunny Island, always follow the specifications and
instructions in the technical documentation for the SMA Sunny Island.
The lithium cells used by TESVOLT are maintenance-free. However, to ensure safe operation, all plug/
screw connections on the electrical components should be inspected and, if necessary, returned to an
operational condition by qualified specialists at least once a year.
Check all the screwed electrical connections and check the tightening torque with the specified values:

Only re-tighten loosened connections to the specified torques. Check the SoC, SoH, cell voltages and
temperatures of the battery modules for irregularities using the BatMon software.
If you would like to clean the battery cabinet, please use a dry cleaning cloth. Ensure that no moisture
comes into contact with the battery connections. Do not use solvents of any kind.
Switch the TS 48 V off and on again once a year.
