INSTALLATION AND CONFIGURATION
Calls Information Page
This page informs us of the calls that are currently active. The information provided includes local and remote URIs, which
studio has the call active, what line position on the Studio’s VSet the call is on, what codec it’s using, etc.
Devices Information Page
The Devices page shows us what devices (VSet’s, Consoles, PCs, and
other controllers) are currently connected to the VSet. In our
example, Studio A and B have one VSet apiece. The IP address and
communication ports are listed as well as the studio that owns the
device. Clicking the Studio name on this page will take us to the
Studio Information page listed while clicking the SID will take us to a page listing more information about the device if
available.
Stream Statistics Information Page
This page displays statistics about the streams handled on the LAN port. It provides over and under run, jitter, and other
information that is useful when troubleshooting audio problems.
Audio dropouts, clicks, pops, and other audio annoyances can usually be narrowed down to
problems with the network itself. Most who have done any troubleshooting in a Livewire
environment will be familiar with these statistics. These problems are usually caused by an unstable
clock on the AoIP network or an improperly configured Ethernet switch. In our experience (going all
the way back to our original Telos 10 hybrid), problems with the phone calls are usually narrowed
down to the line itself or the provider of the line. Todays connections with SIP and ISPs are no
different. If the VX is booting and operating, there’s probably nothing wrong with the hardware. If
the hardware is OK and the system configuration hasn’t changed, there’s an excellent chance
something changed on the network or with the provider.
System Status Page
This page displays all of the hardware statistics for the VX Engine. You’ll see CPU and memory allocation data as well as system
health and software version information. Don’t be surprised if Telos Support asks for a screenshot of this page when asked to
help with an issue. You can also reboot the VX chassis from this page using the button at the top.
Licenses Page
System Licenses are available to unlock additional features such as more available channels for faders (VX Enterprise only)
This page allows you to enter your new license number as well as backup your current licenses. It will also tell you how close to
the fader limit the VX is.
