Phaser 480 Color Printer

Cleaning and Maintenance

Turn the green knob toward the front of the printer to rotate the
paper-feed roller. Clean the roller’s entire surface.

Close the paper guide.

Caution

Make sure that you close the paper guide to avoid a printer jam.

Pinch Roller, Platen, and Idler

Caution

Avoid touching the rollers with your fingers; oil from your hands
can contaminate the rollers and can cause printing problems.

Use the lint-free cloth moistened with 90% isopropyl alcohol to
wipe the full length of these three rollers. Rotate each roller to clean
its entire surface.

a. Pinch roller

— rotate with your hand (use a clean lint-free cloth).

b. Platen

— rotate by turning the green knob.

c. Idler

— rotate with your hand (use a clean lint-free cloth).
