Connecting a FlexSet 40B to a FlexSet 280/281
1. Turn the FlexSet 280/281-40B onto its back.
2. The right side of the FlexSet 280/281 has the same connector slots as does the
FlexSet 40B (see
Figure 7-6
). Place the plastic connecting piece (see
Figure 7-7
) into
the FlexSet 280/281 slots; the shallower end of the connecting piece must be
forward; the deeper end must be towards the rear. Insert the rear end first and
then push the front end into position firmly until it clicks.
3. Lift the FlexSet 40B and place it onto the free side of the connector piece that is
attached to the FlexSet 280/281. Insert the rear end first and then push the front
end into position firmly until it clicks.
4. Lift the front of the FlexSet 280/281-40B and rotate it to access the FlexSet
280/281’s D-BUS connector socket (see
Figure 7-5)
. Connect one end of the RJ-45
connector cable to the FlexSet 280/281’s D-BUS connector socket.

5. Connect the other end of the connector cable to the D-BUS connector socket
located on the left side of the FlexSet 40B.
6. Set the 3-position slide switch (located on the bottom lower side of the first FlexSet
40B) to position “
1 ”. Use a screwdriver to move the switch to the proper position.
