Line Distances
FlexSet telephone sets are designed to operate over line distances (see below) using
internal power, supplied by the Coral station circuit. In order
to extend the cable loop
limit , the FlexSet 280/281 series can be powered by an external power source located
at the station. Power adapters are explained in
External Power Supply on page 8-1
.
Maximum Line Lengths depend on the gauge wire used to connect the Coral to the
telephone keyset.
When using the internal power supply (supplied by the peripheral card), a simple rule
of thumb for any gauge wire is that the maximum DC resistance of the loop be
200 Ohms or less (175 Ohms for FlexSet 80 or GKT).
