5.3 Disposal
Unless a return or disposal agreement has been made the device
components MUST be disposed of by authorised qualified waste
disposal company, taking any hazardous materials into account.
Deliver the device components and parts that are no longer
required for recycling:
n
Have metals scrapped.
n
Recycle plastic elements.
n
Sort other device components according to material properties
and dispose of them separately.
Electrical components can contain substances which are haz-
ardous to health and environment that must not enter into the
municipal waste system.
Since electric components can also contain valuable materials
(e.g. precious metals), they must be delivered for the recycling or
disposal by a qualified waste disposal company.
Chemicals (solvents, detergents, media, etc.) can have different
effects on air, soil, water as well as the human health. Under cer-
tain circumstances, valuable substances can be recovered from
the chemicals.
Chemicals may not enter into the air, soil, sewage, surface or
ground water.
For recycling or disposal, appoint a proven qualified waste disposal
company.
Rechargeable batteries or batteries contain toxic heavy metals.
They are subject to special waste treatment and must be submitted
to municipal collection points or disposed of by a specialist com-
pany.
