Setting the number of rings
You can set the number of rings after which
the answering machine switches itself on
to between 2 and 9 rings or to "Economy
function".
1.
Select the desired number of rings.

In "Automatic" (default), the answering
machine switches itself on after:
• Four rings if no new messages have
been recorded
• Two rings if new messages have been
recorded
Note:
When polling your answering machine
from a distance (remote access), you can
hang up after the third ring because no new
messages have been recorded. This helps
you save telephone charges (setting:
"Economy function").

Functions for each MSN (user)
The answering machine can be used for
each user, i.e. major functions can be
individually set for, and used by, each
specified user (max. 5 MSNs).
Before operating the answering machine,
simply select the desired user in the menu
"Change user".
• Answering machine On/Off
• Two different operating modes:
– Message, with recording
– Information message, without
recording
• Record/erase message, information
message and time-over message
• Play back/erase incoming calls
• Remote access with VIP number
Note:
Operation of your answering machine via
the base station does not depend on the
MSNs (users) that have been set.
The messages of all users can be played
back or erased.
Date and time
Your telephone registers time and date of
the recorded messages and shows this
information in the handset display. For
information on setting time and date, see
the section "Base station settings".
