The working pressure of the blade is obtained from a compression spring, this one can be

adjusted with the nut E in figure 16. This will be done having in mind the type and hardness

of the terrain and the amount of cover crop over it. You will also have to keep in mind  that

pressure  of  the  spring  must  not  be  excessive  not  allowing  the  blade  to  swivel  in  case  of

blocking, (for example with a rock) in which case damages to the planter could occur.

Registration of the fertilizer discs.

The fertilizing units are placed in such a way

that  they  deliver  fertilizer,  a  side  of  the  seed

line, from 5 to 8 cm. and not in the same line

this  is  to  avoid

PHYTOTOXICITY  that  could

appear during germination.

The  ideal  depth  is  5  or  6  centimeters.  To

move  the  fertilizing  unit  through  the  toolbar;

loosen  bolt  A  of  the  adjusting  wedge/chocks,

adjusting  them  again  once  registration  has

been achieved. See figure 17.

For depth registration, lifting or lowering of the

fertilizing unit can be done by loosening bolt B

to position the shank at the desired height.

The main registration of these fertilizing units are the following:

Pressure of the discs:

Adjusting or loosening the nut C, the pressure spring can be

compressed or de-compressed to adjust the pressure according to soil hardness.

Depth  of  fertilizer  placement:

By  moving  the  lever  D  the  height  of  the  semi-

pneumatic wheel is adjusted, into 9 different positions for depths from 1 to 9 cm this

moves from 1 centimeter from position to position.

Keep in mind that the height of the fertilizing unit will affect not depth of application

directly, BUT it will affect the pressure that the spring will make over the terrain.

Special attention must be kept,  to not exceed the unit´s limits. The pressure spring

must not be forced beyond it´s limits. If necessary the height of the shank may need

to be adjusted.

If you will perform maintenance or registration tasks under the planter:
Place all locks in the elevation cylinders and set correctly the frame support stands.

Figure 17

If you will perform maintenance or registration tasks under the planter:
Place all locks in the elevation cylinders and set correctly the frame support stands.
