Planter settings.
Adjustment of the position of the markers.
The markers are positioned in factory according to the number of lines and separation
between them and according to the model of the planter. In this way both markers, left and
right will indicate the center line of the tractor´s next swath.
When the distance between lines is
changed, (for example: from planting corn
at 70 cm to soybeans at 52,5 cm) in some
cases you may need to change the length
of the marker. To do so you must set loose
the square head set screws (A) Figure 14
and extend or shorten (whatever is
needed) the square bar sliding it.
To determine the distance the marker has to be set, you must use the following formula:
Where:
d:
is the distance between the first planted line (the one towards the not planted field) and
the edge of the marking disc. (meters).
N:
is the number of lines the planter has.
S:
is the separation between lines (meters).
For example:
Supposed we have a planter with 10 lines and the separation between them is of 70 cm.
Figure 15. In this case the separation (d) that we must have between the edge of the disc of
each marker and the first line planted of each side, will be determined using the formula as
follows:
In this way, placing the edge of the discs to the first line of planting there is a distance of 3,85
meters, we will have a mark where the center of the tractor must be in the next swath.

d = = = 3,50 0,35 = 3,85 Mts
